Carlos Sainz Signs New Contract with Ferrari
Ferrari has rewarded Carlos Sainz's fine form with a fresh two-year contract that will keep him at the team until at least the end of the 2024 season.
The Spaniard joined Ferrari in 2021 after two years with McLaren and has quickly established himself as a reliable and consistent performer alongside Charles Leclerc.
Sainz has finished in the top six in all but three of the 33 races he has started for Ferrari, and has scored six podiums, including a victory at the British Grand Prix earlier this year.
The 28-year-old's new contract is a sign of Ferrari's commitment to Sainz and their belief that he is a key part of their future plans.
Sainz said: "I am very happy to have renewed my contract with Scuderia Ferrari. I have always said that I feel at home here and this extension is another step forward in my career."
"I want to thank Mattia, the team and all the tifosi for their support and I will continue to give it my all to help the team achieve its goals."
Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto said: "I am delighted that Carlos has chosen to extend his relationship with Scuderia Ferrari. He has proven to be a valuable member of our team and I believe he has the potential to help us reach our goals."
"He is a talented driver, who has shown his strength and determination on and off track."
"This new contract is a sign of our confidence in Carlos and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the years to come."
