Buffalo Bills Sign Chase Claypool
Former Pittsburgh Steelers Receiver Joins AFC East Contender
Buffalo, NY - May 3, 2024 - 11:11 AM EDT
The Buffalo Bills have continued their offseason roster revamp by signing former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool to a one-year contract, the team announced on Friday.
Claypool, 25, was originally drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has quickly emerged as one of the more dynamic playmakers in the league, recording 2,100 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns in his first three seasons.
The addition of Claypool gives the Bills another explosive weapon on the offensive side of the ball. He joins a young and talented receiving corps that already features Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.
The Bills are coming off an impressive season in which they finished 13-4 and advanced to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The team is hoping that the addition of Claypool will help them take the next step and compete for a Super Bowl title.
Claypool is excited about the opportunity to join the Bills. He said, "I'm really looking forward to playing with Josh Allen and the rest of the guys on this team. I think we have a chance to do something special here."
The Bills are scheduled to open their 2024 season on September 10th at home against the New England Patriots.
